workShopS In 2010, Waste Wise workshops sponsored by Wrigley included: Two refresher workshops for a total of 37 teachers from 20 schools Six follow-up workshops for 69 teachers from 44 schools A special workshop with Josh Byrne from ABC TV’s Gardening Australia on Waste Wise gardens for 50 teachers from 36 schools waSTE wiSE The Waste Wise schools program in Western Australia aims to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill by implementing the three Rs in schools – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – while developing positive environmental values among students and the whole school community. The program’s main focus is to conduct professional development workshops for teachers, who can then bring the three Rs to life within their own schools.
