Wrigleys : Wrigley Pacific Sustainability Report 2010
Managing Director Hamish Thomson with the NSW Rural Fire Service 14 PUTTING OUR PRINCIPLES INTO ACTION Supporting our local communities Corporate philanthropy forms an integral part of the way that we are working to advance the wellbeing of the communities in which we live and work. For many years, Wrigley Pacific has made donations to the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Rural Fire Service and Hornsby Hospital. Both organisations serve the local area surrounding our factory in Asquith, where many of our Associates and their families live. Long-time supporter Wrigley has been providing financial support to the NSW Rural Fire Service for more than 15 years. In 2010, we donated $8000 to support the upgrade of training materials and other items to benefit all brigades within the Hornsby Shire. Also in 2010, Wrigley presented Hornsby Hospital with a cheque for $15,000, which was put towards the purchase of a new anaesthetic monitor for the hospital’s operating theatres. This machine monitors patient pulse, heart rates, oxygen levels, blood pressure during surgery and hooks into the anaesthetic machines to monitor anaesthetic gas delivery to the patient .
