Wrigleys : Wrigley Pacific Sustainability Report 2010
Our A squith and Scoresby manufacturing facilities are successfully applying the three Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – to their waste management programs. In the last two years, Asquith has expanded its waste management programs so that more than three quarters of all waste generated at this site is now recycled, and zero waste is sent to landfill. neW opportunities Categories of recyclable waste have been expanded to create new opportunities to reuse and recycle unwanted matter. For example, timber from pallets than cannot be reused is now recycled as a separate category, while food waste bi-products are donated to a feed stock company for use in pet food and the production process, resulting in 100 per cent reuse of this previously redundant waste category. Our Scoresby manufacturing facility has also set up a robust system of waste streaming, dividing waste into plastic, cardboard and paper, co-mingle, organic, timber and stock feed, aiming to reduce landfill waste at the site by 70 per cent in the first 12 months of the program. duce, ReReRe use, cycle 28 PUTTING OUR PRINCIPLES INTO ACTION
